Living between the South Downs and Sussex coastline, Daizi takes inspiration from the ever-changing landscape around her.
Her work derives from memory, which enables her to work freely whilst exploring the relationship between colour, form, light and space.
Using a pallet knife, she intuitively layers oil paint, removing and reapplying until the piece organically evolves. Whilst elements are smooth and harmonious, others are expressive and textural.
Her colourful landscapes behold a sense of fantasy and familiarity, evoking feelings of escape, serenity and distance.
“They are immersive paintings that represent my experience with nature; my curiosity and appreciation for it but also the feeling it stirs in me.”
